Job Vacancy Description: Counter Clerk

We are looking for someone with great communication skills and a passion for customer service.

You will be able to work quickly and efficiently, completing transactions in an accurate and timely manner whilst ensuring customers are fully informed of all the relevant services on offer.

You will demonstrate good product knowledge for both the Post Office Products and our Cards and Gifts shop and you must be able to ensure that a high level of security is observed at all times.

Job Vacancy Requirements

The applicant should be able to demonstrate a good level of numeracy, strong communication skills and the ability to participate as a key team member. Post Office experience is not necessary as full training will be given but experience in retail and a cash handling role is essential.

Our card and gift shop is a very important part of our business so someone with an interest in sourcing, purchasing and the display of our stock is essential. You will have the opportunity to attend various trade fairs throughout the year.

We are looking for someone to work either two or three days a week from 9am until 5.30 with alternate Saturdays 9am until 4pm.

We are only a small team therefore it is crucial that everyone is prepared to be flexible with their hours to enable us to have cover for holidays and sickness as necessary.

The Benefits

Pay is dependant on experience but the rate for a fully trained clerk is currently £9.40 per hour.
